IoT without Batteries: Energy Harvesting Seminar

InfinIT, DTU Compute and DELTA invite for a half-day energy harvesting seminar.

The Internet of Things (IoT) has developed into one of the biggest buzzwords of the tech industry – and for a good reason. IoT refers to the establishment of networks between physical objects, human beings, plants and animals (also often referred to as “The Internet Of Everything”) with embedded electronics, software and sensors that allows the exchange of data and interconnectivity with endless possibilities for making smart things. Although, companies have been hesitant to get started with physical collection of data as the sensor units, up until now, have been relying on a wire power source or batteries that need to be changed, which all in all can be a potentially big expense of resources. But the potential of IoT is far bigger than we can imagine. With this seminar we wish to spread knowledge of the potential of incorporating technology that harvest the energy from the surroundings as power source in IoT systems.

In this half-day seminar we will provide insights into the technical possibilities of using selfpowered IoT systems. How do we get started and where is the technology heading in the near future? Through talks by an array of central knowledge-institutions and companies in Denmark with close-to-field knowledge and products we will deal with most aspects in the field followed by a networking session.
