Mikkel Leth Olsen

Mikkel navigates the border between engineering and design while pushing creative boundaries.

In IdemoLab, Mikkel specialises in Interaction and Electronic Sketching, focusing both on thoroughly exploring problem domains to discover latent needs, and introducing state-of-the-art technology to people and contexts in an easily comprehendible manner, to invent new intriguing solutions. He utilises his background in sports as an elite Danish volleyball player and his love of, and educational background in, music to explore the human condition, drawing on knowledge of movement and perception, as well as emotional response to design and experience.

Mikkel\’s education is two-fold, as he holds a Bachelor Degree from the Technical University of Denmark in IT Engineering and a Master\’s Degree in User Centered Design from the IT University of Denmark. His background also includes experience from his own company, working with a variety of clients to develop specialised software solutions.

Mikkel leads the Wearables section of IdemoLab and combines his extensive professional knowledge with a natural ability to play and inspire creativity while engaging in ideation, concept development, sketching and workshop facilitation.

When not at work, Mikkel enjoys riding his Intruder 1400 motorcycle, doing 21s, and exploring the world through photography.
